Seema Lohithakshan D.D.S (a.k.a Dr L)

Dr L is very gentle and caring dentist who is focused on delivering the best dental care with the highest integrity that you deserve and expect. She started working as a general dentist and teaching faculty member in 1995. She is a graduate of the prestigious UCSF (University Of California, San Francisco), School of Dentistry. She also did a post graduate internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at University Medical Center, Fresno, a program affiliated to University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, San Francisco. At UMC Fresno, a Level 1 trauma center, she got extensive experience in handling surgical cases related to head and face trauma, IV sedation and wisdom teeth extractions. She has also taken hundreds of hours of training in conventional orthodontics besides being Invisalign certified. Dr L is also ACLS certified and has extensive experience in I.V therapy. Prior to working at Astra Dental she worked for many years as an associate in a reputed private practice in San Jose. Dr L is very adept in handling nervous patients and kids.

Dr L keeps herself and her practice up to date with the latest technologies and advancements in dentistry. Every year she spends hundreds of hours taking continuing education courses to help offer the best in class treatment and options for her patients. Besides doing regular preventive and restorative dentistry (fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures etc.) she also does sleep dentistry (oral & IV sedation), braces, extraction of wisdom teeth, Invisalign, Implants, Veneers and Laser Dentistry.
When Dr L is not working, she enjoys pencil sketching, oil painting and playing tennis.

" I am very gentle when I treat patients and I make sure that they are comfortable every step of the way. I make it a point to always spend time listening to my patients and explaining in detail about their condition, options and treatments, if any needed. I believe that my patients deserve the best available treatment that is available. So I spend hundreds of hours every year training myself in the latest advancements in dentistry. I have a way of managing nervous and anxious patients and put them to ease. To help such patients and others that are fearful of dental procedures or want to just relax during treatment, I offer sedation dentistry."

Dawn Yim (Dental Assistant)
Dawn is a very people friendly person who is very cheerful with an excellent sense of humor. She takes excellent care of the patients. Dawn is bilingual. She can speak Korean.
Theresa DeOrnelas R.D.A (Front Office Coordinator)
Theresa is the office coordinator. She is very skilled, highly qualified and experienced and oversees the patients treatment schedule and financial plans. She can set up a financial plan to meet a patient's treatment needs, as well as educate the patient in understanding how to best use their insurance benefits. Theresa is enthusiastic in her
work and loves her patients. Her goal is to make the patient's experience comfortable and pleasant.
Theresa works to submit the patient's insurance claims and ensure that they are giving the patient their maximum benefits. She also works to manage our schedule to customize all treatment times for our patients. Theresa also is a Registered Dental Assistant of 15
years and will assists the doctors in direct patient care. She can answer any questions patients have about their care.
On Theresa's personal time she enjoys playing soccer. She plays on 2 Co-Ed teams one which she manages.
